Events: Gov. Pat Quinn Invites You to the Marriage Equality Act Signing Ceremony

When: Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 3:30 pm

Where: UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago

What: As Illinois becomes the 15th state in the nation to embrace full marriage equality, Gov. Pat Quinn invites you to celebrate with the many people who worked tirelessly to make marriage equality possible in Illinois as the Religious Freedom and Marriage Equality Act is signed into law.

Events: College of Lake County 50+ Mini Job Fair in Grayslake

When: Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm

Where: College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake Campus – Anderson Court, Grayslake

What: College of Lake County Career and Placement Services Mini Job Fair will provide employers a chance to recruit for full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs and internships  with College of Lake County students, alumni and community residents. Jobseekers do not need to preregister. This event is free to everyone. All candidates should dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes to distribute to employers.

Events: Lake County Notarizing Party for Democrats

When: November 20, 2013 at 6:00 pm

Where: Lake County Federation of Teachers Hall, 248 Ambrogio Dr. (off Washington St., west of Rt. 41), Gurnee

What: The Lake County Democratic Organization will have notaries available to complete precinct committeemen petitions, plus petitions for Gov. Quinn and some other candidates. Bring the petitions that you have circulated to the meeting so that the Notary Publics on site can notarize your signature in person.  Do not sign the petition sheets ahead of time. Coffee and fall treats will be available. Petitions will then be turned in at the County Clerk’s office during the filing period.

Signatures can still be gotten, with a minimum of ten signatures necessary per petition. Click here for a fillable statement of candidacy and petition form. Send an email to Lauren Beth Gash or Nancy Shepherdson who may be able to send you a file showing the voters in your precinct.
