Meeting with Northwest Lake County Democrats to Move Things Forward in 2022

What: Democrats in Northwest Lake County, an area turning more blue but with more work to do, are meeting (virtually) to discuss how to keep moving forward in 2022. Leaders of the Lake County Democrats will also share ideas and discuss what we can do to help elect more Democrats to offices from Washington to closer to home. Free admission. Open to Democrats.

Snack & Sign (& Notarize) with Lake County Democrats

When: Sunday January 30th from 12:00noon to 2:00pm

Where: Lake County Federation of Teachers, 248 Ambrogio Dr., Gurnee (right off Rte. 41)

What: Attendees can pick up or sign petitions for candidates in Lake County – or get some notarized. Precinct Committeeperson petitions will be available. Maps will be available to help you figure out your new precinct. Free and open to Democrats. COVID protocols will be observed. Snacks and beverages provided.

Groundhog Day – Evening Hike with Climate Advocates

When: Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 6:30 to 8:30pm

Where: Old School Forest Preserve, 28285 St. Mary’s Road, Mettawa

What: Citizens Climate Lobby-Lake County sponsors an evening, solar-lit 1.3 mile hike through Old School Forest Preserve. Sign up here. In the event of inclement or severe weather (temperature under 20 degrees) the event will be rescheduled and registrants notified.

Afternoon of Action Collecting Signatures for Laura Faver Dias

When: Sunday, January 30, 2021. First shift from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm; second shift from 2:00 to 4:00pm

Where: Panera Bread, 832 S. Milwaukee, Libertyville

What: An Afternoon of Action supporting Laura Faver Dias for State Representative. Attendees will be knocking on Dem friendly doors for signature gathering. Training, handwarmers, and hot drinks will be provided! Register here.

Student Organizing Coffee Chat with Rep. Jen Gong-Gershowitz and Sen. Laura Fine

When: Sunday, January 30, 2022. 1pm – 2pm: Training and coffee; 2pm – 4pm: Canvassing in pairs

Where: Glenview Grind, 1837 Glenview Road, Glenview

What: An hour of organizing, training and collaborative discussion about getting involved in politics for high school and college students. Afterwards, the training will be put into action gathering petition signatures through petition-on-demand and canvassing.  Drinks and snacks provided. For more information, visit the Facebook page.
