What: McHenry County Juneteenth Organization and McHenry County College present a 45-minute documentary, How Martin Luther King Jr. Changed the World. Rev. What: The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office presents a North Chicago Community Town Hall on the Gun Violence Prevention Initiative (GVPI). These town halls are part of a series of town halls the GVPI has been hosting that offer them the opportunity to listen to the community’s concerns regarding gun violence in their neighborhoods and also collect data to inform and shape their Comprehensive Violence Reduction Plan. What: Attendees at IWLC’s January 6 Democracy Now Demonstration will stand on the sidewalk with signs. Attendees should show up at 12:45pm to hold a sign and remind neighbors, “no more lies about Jan. 6-Democracy Now”. Speakers Lake County Clerk Anthony Vega, Anton Mathews & Esiah Campos will talk about the importance of voting and why the 2024 election is the most important of our lives.
