What: The Wheeling and Palatine Township Democratic organizations invite you to their 2013 Democrats’ Holiday Open House. This free event will be a way to chat with volunteers, meet local elected officials and learn about upcoming 2014 volunteer opportunities. What: Lake/McHenry Organizing for Action (OFA) invites you to join them in a public event: Remembering Sandy Hook on the First Anniversary. State Senator Terry Link, aides from Representative Rita Mayfield’s office and Mayor Wayne Motley of Waukegan will attend, in addition to citizens of all ages. Goals of the event are to remember the victims of Sandy Hook and local gun violence victims and to raise public awareness for Congressional action to pass common sense gun legislation and Universal Background Checks.
