What: You are invited to join Palatine/Wheeling Township Dems at their October Fest. The group will be giving their annual Jim Hightower Community Organizing Award to Hugh Brady and Ken Doruff, Co-Chairs of the North/Northwest Suburban Task Force for supportive housing for individuals with mental illness. Governor Pat Quinn has accepted an invitation to attend.

Where: Course starts and finishes at Walker Ave. and Sheridan Rd., Highwood
What: The 5k starts at 9:00 sharp, registration begins at 7:30 am or register in advance. Warm-up is by Midtown Athletic Club at 8:30 am. Race will end about 10:00 am. For more information on the 5K Pumpkin Run, click here. The Kid’s Dash starts at 8:45 am, and will be from one gateway to another. All runners are encouraged to race in costume. Cost is $45 for 5K race and $15 for Kids’ Dash.
