Events: “RACE: Are We So Different?” Museum Exhibit Opens in Skokie

When: Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

Where: The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center (ILHMEC), 9603 Woods Dr., Skokie

What: The American Anthropological Association has created an interactive museum exhibit that will travel to Skokie, thanks to a partnership between the ILHMEC and the YWCA Evanston/North Shore. The exhibit will continue through Sunday, January 25, 2015.

Events: Celebration of National Landmark Status for the Adlai Stevenson Farm

When: Sunday, October 12, 2014. Tours of the house and exhibit from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Installation and Comments at 3:00 pm.

Where: The Stevenson Center on Democracy, 25200 N. St. Mary’s Rd., Mettawa (Libertyville)

What: The Lake County Forest Preserve District and the Adlai Stevenson Center on Democracy invite you, your family, and friends to the official installation of the United States Department of Interior National Park Service’s bronze plaque designating National Historic Landmark status to the Adlai Stevenson Farm.

The public is welcome free of charge.

Events: New Trier Democratic Organization Annual Dinner 2014

When: Sunday, October 12, 2014. Reception 5:00 pm, Dinner 6:30 pm

Where: Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant, 4999 Old Orchard Shopping Center, Skokie

What: The New Trier Democratic Organization (NTDO) will host their 2014 Annual Dinner titled “In Rauner’s Backyard.” Keynote speakers will be Governor Pat Quinn and running mate Paul Vallas. A discussion of current issues will be moderated by Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin.
