What: A training for deputy voter registrars will be held. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and registered to vote in Lake County. This training is available to all those wishing to register new voters. The training itself is less than an hour.
This training is being held through the County Clerk’s Office and is free of charge.

What: Tenth Dems University (TDU) will present TDU 145: a panel discussion on Women in Politics. Panelists include: Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President; Josina Morita, candidate for Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Chicago, and Janice Bennett, President and CEO of YWCA Lake County. The YWCA mission includes empowering and promoting leadership for women.
The panel will be moderated by author and lecturer Rebecca Sive, Academic Director of the Women in Public Leadership Executive Education Program at the Harris School of Public Policy, The University of Chicago. She is author of “Every Day is Election Day: A Woman’s Guide to Winning Any Office, from the PTA to the White House.” This book will be available for purchase and signing.

What: Tenth Dems University (TDU) will present TDU 143: Citizen Action’s William McNary discusses the Republican Agenda. The conversation will touch on the radical turn taken by Congressional Republicans, as well as other conservatives such as Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner. Citizen Action and McNary have led campaigns for economic and social justice at the state and national levels.
Discussion follows the presentation.
