What: Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Lake County offers information about resources for a healthy lifestyle, financial awareness and community outreach, in addition to a job fair and food pantry.

Second Annual McHenry County Juneteenth Festival

When: Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00pm

Where: 121 W Van Buren St., Woodstock

What:  The Juneteenth Festival is a celebration of the holiday commemorating the date of June 19, 1865 when federal marshals marched into Galveston, Texas and enforced an order of emancipation for 250,000 enslaved Blacks. President Biden declared Juneteenth as the 11th Federal Holiday on June 17, 2021. This year’s theme is Jubilee! Exhibitors may sign up at https://www.mchenrycountyjuneteenth.

West Deerfield Township Democrats Maureen Wener Public Service Award

Fremont Township Democrats May Meeting

When: Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 6:00pm

Where:  Lakeside Recreation Center, 900 S. Lake St., Mundelein (small party room) and online via Zoom

What: All things political will be discussed. A hybrid system will be used, with some meeting in person and everyone else Zooming in. For those attending in person, food will be available for purchase at the Dockside Diner. Those wishing to join via Zoom should email fremontdems@gmail.com.

Indivisible Western Lake County (IWLC) May Meeting

When: Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 7:00 to 8:30pm

Where: Lake Villa District Library, 140 N. Munn Rd., Lindenhurst

What: IWLC’s May meeting welcomes Anthony Vega, Lake County Clerk, who will provide a recap around the Primary Election and preparations for the November General Election. There will also be an update on the new group supporting Dist. 24 Schools, Operation Take Back Our Books, which held their fundraiser last Sunday.
