Citizen Action/Illinois and A Better Illinois Kickoff Event in Vernon Hills
When: Wednesday, January 15, 2013 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Where: Holiday Express Meeting Room, 975 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills
What: Citizen Action/Illinois, as part of the A Better Illinois coalition, has been working to pass fair tax legislation in Illinois, with lower tax rates for lower incomes and higher rates for higher incomes. Fair tax legislation is a top agenda item in Springfield for the 2014 legislative session. The fair tax legislation must be passed by May 4, 2014 in order to be on the November 2014 ballot so that Illinois voters can decide the issue. The current system will remain in place if the legislation is not passed and put on the November ballot.
