Tenth Dems Community Connection Project: Grass Roots to Garden Roots

When: Sunday, May 26, 2013 from noon to 3:00 pm

Where: The Madeleine Fuqua Community Garden, 35 S.Genesee St. (between Water and Lake Streets), Waukegan

What: Be part of our grassroots effort to establish Community Garden vegetable beds. We now have five functioning planting beds ready to go! We need your help on to plant our seeds and seedlings. Please contact us if you can come out and lend a hand. Just an hour or two of your time will go a long way to getting all of the beds planted and ready to grow. This vegetable garden is part of our “Garden to Table” project that the Tenth Dems Community Connection office is working on with GreenTOWN Waukegan.

The raised beds sponsored by the Tenth Dems Community Connection will be the centerpiece of many of our Summer/Fall projects. Produce harvested from the garden will be used for cooking and canning classes as a way to promote the benefit of local gardening for low-income families.

If you can’t be at the garden, please consider making a donation that would help us to keep these programs going.

To join the Tenth Dems Community Connection programming or get more information, send an email or call us at 847-266-VOTE (8683). Digging up political dirt has never been more fun!
