Coalition to Reduce Recidivism Expungement and Sealing Summit (free attorneys available / more volunteer attorneys wanted)

When: Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00am to 3:00pm

Where: Legacy Reentry Foundation offices, 420 W. Clayton St., Waukegan, IL

What: Social justice event where people seeking to expunge or seal Lake County criminal or arrest records can get legal help. More lawyers, law students, paralegals, and Deputy Voter Registrars (DVRs) needed to volunteer; experienced lawyers will be there to assist them. To volunteer, you must register online. People seeking to expunge their records are not required to register before coming to the summit. Most misdemeanors, certain non-violent adult felonies are expungable. Attendees should bring criminal convictions (rap sheet) obtained from the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. Staff will be on hand to print your criminal history.
