Congress Is Everywhere This Summer

This summer’s Congressional recess is a perfect opportunity to connect with your Congressional representatives.

U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider, Sean Casten, and Lauren Underwood are planning a wide array of events in August and September.

Congressman Schneider’s calendar includes hosting “Congress on Your Corner” events in ZionVernon HillsRound Lake, and Wheeling, as well as a birthday celebration. Bicyclists of all ages are also invited to “Bike the Tenth” with him on August 28.

Congressman Sean Casten will be kicking off the first of several town halls with an event in Palatine on Saturday, August 7. Congresswoman Underwood has a busy schedule of town halls in Crystal Lake (August 9), Geneva (August 11) and Oswego (August 14).

Lake County’s variety of summer festivals and parades offer even more opportunities to say hello to—or march alongside—your Congressman or Congresswoman.

Saturday, 8/7: Walk with Congressman Brad Schneider, Senator Adriane Johnson, and other Democrats in the North Chicago Community Days Parade.Gather by 9:30am; step off at 10am. Parade participants should be dropped off at Adams Street and 10th Street.

Saturday, 8/7: Dan Didech and Holly Kim Re-election Campaign Party. O’Toole’s, 412 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Sunday, 8/8: March in the Gurnee Days Parade with Warren Township Dems, Brad Schneider, Team Underwood and Other Democratic Officials. Line up at 11am, step off at noon. Delaney Road between Rt. 41 and Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee.

Sunday, 8/8: Meet and Greet for Senator Adriane Johnson. Bowen Park, 1800 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan, 1:30-3pm.

Tuesday, 8/10: Brad Schneider’s “Congress on Your Corner” in Zion. Zion address provided upon RSVP, 6-7pm. Also streamed on Facebook.

Friday-Sunday, 8/13-8/15: Walk in the Libertyville Days Parade with Brad Schneider, Adriane Johnson, Dan Didech, and Jennifer Clark—and Help at the Libertyville Township Dems’ Booth. For the parade, gather at the Libertyville Metra station at 9:30am for a 10am step-off. Booth is open Friday-Sunday, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.

Sunday, 8/15: Brad Schneider’s 60th Birthday Party. Address provided upon RSVP, 2-4pm.

Sunday, 8/15: Jonathan Carroll Event at Green Day’s Wrigley Field Concert Skybox, 6pm. Gates open at 4:30pm.
