What: Join us for the 6th Annual Poetry and Prose Contest Awards Night. Emcees are Dulce Ortiz of the Latino Coalition of Lake County and Hon. Marc Jones, Waukegan Park District Commissioner. High school students from Zion, Waukegan and North Chicago have submitted original works of poetry and prose on the topic of “Justice” to Tenth Dems Community Connection’s 6th annual writing contest. Students will read their original works aloud. Submissions are being judged by a panel of published local authors. Prizes of $150, $100 and $50 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in poetry and prose categories.
