Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center Race to Zero 5K Run/Walk

When: Sunday, April 24, 2016, registration at 8:00am, race from 9:00am – 12:00 noon.

Where: Independence Grove Forest Preserve, 16400 Buckley Rd., Libertyville, IL

What: The 4th Annual Race to Zero 5K Run/Walk to end sexual violence.  This event celebrates and concludes the national observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  It includes refreshments, entertainment, and post race festivities complete with BBQ, live music, games and activities for kids, prizes for top fundraisers, and more.

Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force Celebrating Life Gala, Health Equity for All

When: Saturday, April 2, 2016, 6:00 – 9:00pm

Where: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, 300 E. Randolph St., 30th Floor, Chicago, IL

What: This year’s Gala recognizes three leaders for their efforts in improving women’s healthcare, providing access to care, and for their dedication to ending health disparities. Honorees are: Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President; Donna Thompson, CEO at Access Community Health Network; and Karriern Watson, Director of Community Engagement in Clinical Research at University of Illinois Cancer Center.  Proceeds support the work of the Breast Cancer Task Force in fighting breast cancer inequities in Metropolitan Chicago.
