Civil War Walking Tour of Waukegan’s Civil War Sites
When: Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 9:30 am
Where: Veterans Memorial Plaza, southwest corner of Washington and West Streets, Waukegan
What: Learn the local history relating to the Civil War era while walking the streets of downtown. The tour will highlight reactions and events leading up to the start of the war, local war efforts, famous local soldiers, the underground railroad and Abraham Lincoln’s visit to Waukegan. The tour is free.
