Film Screening and Discussion of “Absolutely Safe”

What: The UIC Center for Research on Women and Gender and the UIC Maternal and Child Health Program are sponsoring this showing of “Absolutely Safe,” the story of women and the confusing intersection of health, money, science and beauty. View the film and engage in a discussion on women’s health topics including breast implant safety, body image and women’s health activism. Featured participants are filmmaker Carol Ciancutti-Leyva and Judy Norsigian, executive director and co-founder of Our Bodies Ourselves, as well as the editor for each of the nine editions of Our Bodies, Ourselves.
