Tenth Dems Community Connection Writing Contest (Postmark Deadline April 20)

What: Student Writing Contest, Poetry (limit 20 lines) and Prose (limit 600 words)

Who: Students enrolled in a Gurnee, North Chicago, Waukegan or Zion high school

When: Submit your entry and application form via first class mail by Friday, April 20, 2012 to Community Connection Writing Contest, c/o Tenth Dems, P.O. Box 523, Deerfield, IL 60015. Entries must be postmarked no later than Friday, April 20, 2012.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in both Prose and Poetry. Print the application for complete rules and read about this years’ theme, “Belongings.”

Follow the contest rules: only original, unpublished work will be eligible for prizes. You may send up to three submissions; submissions must be typed, and prose must be double-spaced; do not put your name or any contact information on your manuscript; staple an application form to each submission.
