As a result of the most recent rash of power outages, State Senator Susan Garrett and State Representatives Karen May and Elaine Nekritz are convening a meeting with with other suburban Legislators, Mayors, Managers, Administrators, Township Supervisors and County Commissioners to discuss contingencies to keep communities operating when there are power outages.

During the last power outage, many residents called their elected senators and representatives to ask if state or local police could direct traffic on Route 41 and other roads because of inoperative traffic lights. We need to look at ways to communicate with our residents during these outages, and help manage the crises without relying on ComEd. By bringing communities together, we can address these concerns and find ways to collaborate during these types of emergency situations.
