Rep. Carol Sente Petition Action Weekend

When: Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 11:00am – 4:00pm

Where: UAW Region 4, 680 Barclay Blvd., Lincolnshire, IL

What: A weekend of action circulating petitions in support of State Representative Carol Sente’s candidacy in the upcoming election.  A notary will be present on both days to notarize any petitions prior to turn-in.

Two Americans Who Defied the Nazis

When: Monday, November 30, 2015 at 7:00pm

Where: Congregation Beth Shalom, 3433 Walters Ave., Northbrook, IL

What: A presentation about Waitstill and Martha Sharp, who provided aid to refugees fleeing Nazi persecution.  Their story will be the subject of a Ken Burns film on PBS in fall, 2016.  Speakers are Artemis Joukowsky, filmmaker and member of the Sharp family, and Gretchen Skidmore, Director, Education Initiatives, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
