Erin’s Law Conference 2013

When: Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

Where: College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake

What: The Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center (ZCenter), the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Children’s Advocacy Center, and the Regional Office of Education are co-sponsoring an Erin’s Law Conference that will provide an overview of the law and give faculty and staff members in community schools the tools they need to provide this critical prevention education to Lake County youth. The conference will be open to all Illinois K-12 faculty and staff and will include the training and tools necessary for participant to implement ZCenter’s Prevention and Education programs.

This conference is free. CEU’s will be available for a nominal charge. Space is limited, so registrations will be held on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here to register and for more information. Please RSVP no later than Monday, October 21.

Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center 30th Anniversary Gala

When: Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 6:00 pm

Where: Briarwood Country Club, 355 Deerfield Rd., Deerfield

What: Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center (ZCenter) invites you to help them commemorate their 30th Anniversary. Special guest is Kayla Harrison, 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist. The event includes live and silent auctions, dinner, dancing and more.

What: Let’s Talk Politics! There’s so much to talk about! See the newly remodeled Deerfield Public Library, watch a short animated slide show, discuss issues such as Syria, the N.S.A., and the Trans Pacific Partnership. Democrats are welcome and all can have a say. Bring your friends and family because we love to see new faces.

MHAI Interactive Lecture on Maternal Mental Health Issues

When: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm

Where: Mental Health America of Illinois (MHAI), 70 E. Lake St., Chicago

What: This training session will cover the treatment of perinatal mood disorder, including how to screen, evaluate and treat women and their partners with maternal mental health issues such as the “Baby Blues” and post-partum depression. The workshop will be led by Lisa Levens, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
