Healthy Spirit Healthy Soul Lake County, Illinois, is a group of African American churches and community organizations that promote healthy living and early cancer detection as part of their mission to eliminate cancer in the African American community in Lake County. Volunteers are sought by the sponsors to help at various events held by member churches and organizations.

Chicago City Alderman Joe Moore will announce his introduction of the Citizens United resolution. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky plans to be there and Senator Durbin has been invited. Please try to come in order to show strong support for Alderman Moore and for opposition to Citizens United.

Northfield Dems Booth at Glenview Summer Fest

Time: Setup 6:00 am, Fest begins 8:00 am

Location: Table #91, north side of Glenview Rd., west of Waukegan Rd. and east of Church St., Glenview

Democrats of Northfield Township will give out flags, buttons and stickers, do voter registration and find volunteers. Sigh up to help and meet new Dems and local candidates. Four volunteers during each of the five shifts are welcomed. Times are 6:00 – 8:00 am, 8:00 – 10:00 am, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, 12:00 -2:00 pm and 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Need volunteers from 8:00 – 10:00 am especially.
