What: The Lake County Underage Drinking and Drug Prevention Task Force will host a Town Hall Meeting with Dr. Celeste Napier, Director of the Center for Compulsive Behavior and Addiction and Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Rush University. Dr. Napier will speak about the latest trends of psychoactive substances and their effects on the biological functioning of the adolescent brain, as well as how the use/misuse of prescription medications relates to heroin use.

The League supports the ACA and is holding this free public education program to inform the public about the law itself and about its implementation. Light refreshments will be available.

What: Children’s pumpkin carving begins when District 112 schools are out at 1:00 pm. Market vendors, live music and children’s activities from 4:00 – 10:00 pm. Enter the “Most Pumpkins Carved Simultaneously Contest” that begins a 7:00 pm. Arrive at 6:00 pm to help set up or at 6:30 pm for the warm-up show by Midtown.
