Lake County Democrats Host “From the Folks Who Brought You the Weekend: Organizing for Justice”

Thanks to all our Tenth Dems friends who joined the Lake County Democrats to hear about labor from Larry Spivack, President of the Illinois Labor History Society and a former Regional Director of AFSCME Council 31 (Illinois). With interesting charts and historic photographs, Larry Spivack showed why without organizing there would be no weekends, no benefits, no civil rights, no criminal justice reform, and no chance for a livable wage. Those attending included numerous Democratic elected officials from Lake County, members of labor, and others who wanted to learn more about organizing for justice and moving the country forward in the face of concerted efforts to harm the middle class.. It was a fantastic turnout for a great program!
