In Illinois, there’s movement to repeal the Parental Notice of Abortion Act (PNA), which often adds another burden to a woman exercising her rights at an already difficult time. What: A panel discussion with Emanuel “Chris” Welch, Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, about defending and advancing women’s reproductive rights in Illinois, including the effort to repeal the Parental Notice of Abortion Act. The panel also will include Melissa Widen, an attorney with the ACLU Bypass Project who’s also served as Chair of the Board of Personal PAC, and Dr. Allison Cowett, Co-Director of Family Planning Associates.
