POSTPONED: Democratic Unity Brunch with Senator Jeff Merkley (and celebrating the life of Hon. Dan Pierce)

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the Democratic Unity Brunch with Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) celebrating the life of Hon. Dan Pierce, former 10th District State Central Committeeman, that had been planned for April 26 in Highland Park has been postponed. If you were a sponsor or already bought your tickets, they will be honored for the event when it’s rescheduled. If you become a sponsor now, that will go towards the rescheduled event — and that would really help us get through this difficult time.

This is a challenging environment for all of us. Missing out on the Democratic Unity Brunch and hearing firsthand from Senator Merkley, a leading progressive voice in the Senate, about how important it is to stand up against the worst impulses of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell is disappointing. And it’s a big blow to us as an all-volunteer grassroots group. We aren’t able to gather and raise money as we normally would, yet we still have rent to pay for our offices, phone and cable bills, not to mention how much we have contributed directly to Democratic candidates this year. Candidates will keep working towards November’s election and we’ll do our best to help elect and support Democrats, albeit with a different backdrop than anyone had expected. But we can only do that with your support.

If you can become a sponsor or buy tickets now, please do so — you can click here to become a sponsor (or just buy tickets) now! — that will go towards the next event and it’ll make things a little easier for us right now as we adapt to this new, uncertain situation.
