Tenth Dems 2019 Annual Membership Drive

We are in the process of holding our 2019 Annual Membership Drive. Have you joined or renewed your membership yet?

The effects of 2016 are still being felt. Whether offensive rhetoric or backwards policy, it seems there’s something appalling in the news every day.

But rather than despair, Tenth Dems has organized. Not only did we help the 10th District buck the national trend in 2016, we continued the momentum in 2017 with historic victories at the local level.

And our grassroots group worked hard to help build the Blue Wave of 2018.

As a volunteer group, we rely on support from our members. Renew your Tenth Dems membership for 2019 or join today to help us reach voters and elect more Democrats in 2020.

A grassroots organization like Tenth Dems depends on members like you to support our work. Your participation helps elect Democrats to all levels of government within our area.

To win on Election Day, we put in a lot of work before any votes are counted. We engage voters and activists, whether they have gone to the polls for decades or the endless disturbing news since 2016 has pushed them into politics for the first time. An active Democratic constituency is the only way to prevent more Republican damage to our progressive values.

There’s been so much energy and we’ve turned it into action. Our volunteers sold buttons and made signs for friends attending the Women’s March and the March For Our Lives events in Chicago and the suburbs. We’ve even organized bus trips to Washington.

And we connect numerous volunteers to critical local campaigns.

Our bright, talented interns staff numerous events, help manage our offices throughout the 10th District, and assist with research.

Whether through social media, our events list, or email, our Communications Team gets the word out to the growing number of people more eager than ever to elect Democrats.

We organize Let’s Talk Politics conversations to hear from folks all over. At the same time, Tenth Dems University hosts elected officials, political analysts, and legal scholars to lead free discussions about interesting and timely topics, such as “Trump and the Constitution.”

Sign up or renew your Tenth Dems membership now to elect more Democrats next November.

And the hard work of Tenth Dems isn’t just about ideas—it’s also about the nuts and bolts grind of getting people to the polls. Our Tenth Dems University also arranges training for Deputy Voter Registrars who then can register voters in Illinois. Tenth Dems plans voter registration drives throughout the year.

On Election Day, we send lawyers from our Tenth Dems Election Protection Team to the polls to make sure that everyone who is entitled to vote is allowed to vote.

As we’ve all come to learn, elections have consequences. Now, more than ever, we have to channel concern into concrete action. We need to win next fall, not for the sake of winning but because so much of what we value is at stake.

Recent speakers at our events include MSNBC’s Jill Wine-Banks, former Watergate prosecutor, and Chair of Let America Vote, Jason Kander, a candidate for U.S. Senate from Missouri. Our members have been able to attend several rallies for 2020 presidential candidates, too. We know our mission is twofold: remain optimistic about a more progressive future, but don’t forget that there are people working to prevent that vision from becoming a reality.

Fortunately, Tenth Dems is up to the challenge. Whether at our annual poetry awards night in Waukegan with high school students or our evening of social justice songs in Gurnee, we know that the passion to bring about positive change is deeper than any news report could suggest.

We’re fired up too—and we’re working every day, in every corner of the 10th District, to make sure we move forward.

We’ve been right there with you and we will continue to be in 2019/2020.

Be a part of our movement! Join or renew your 2019 membership now!
