Tenth Dems Founding Chair Lauren Beth Gash to Be Honored

Tenth Dems is a great example of what Democrats can do at the grassroots level.  Many people contribute to the success of Tenth Dems, but the passion and skill of our Founding Chair, Lauren Beth Gash, inspire us all to work a little bit harder.  The results speak for themselves.

This is just one of the many reasons why Lauren is being honored in August by the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association.  The Democratic County Chairs’ Association’s announcement about honoring Lauren follows and includes a link to her impressive biography.

Dear Friends,

We wanted you to be among the first to know that our friend, Lauren Beth Gash, will be receiving the Democratic Party Builder Award from the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association.

The award will be presented at the 2017 Annual Chairs’ Brunch that will take place on Thursday, August 17th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.; doors open at 8:30 a.m.; and the program begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.

As the Founding Chair of the Tenth Congressional District Democrats (Tenth Dems), Lauren has built a strong Democratic infrastructure and has motivated thousands of people to get involved in Democratic politics. Howard Dean has called Tenth Dems “one of the most impressive grassroots groups I’ve seen anywhere in the country.”

Recently, Lauren has been a Commissioner with the Illinois Human Rights Commission. Before that, she served four terms in the Illinois House of Representatives where she chaired the Judiciary Committee and worked with then-State Senator Barack Obama on several pieces of legislation. Learn more about Lauren here. Hon. Bill Houlihan is also being honored at the event.

The ILDCCA’s Chairs’ Brunch is the largest gathering of Democrats in Illinois each and every year. It’s an opportunity to connect with over 1,000 Democratic County Chairs, elected officials, labor leaders, Democratic activists, and candidates for federal, state and local offices.
