Illinois Unites for Marriage Seeks Local Housing

Illinois Unites for Marriage is embedding organizers in communities across the state, including Aurora and Elgin, who are coming from different parts of the state. Supporters that can house the organizers for the term of the campaign are needed. Organizers began arriving on Thursday, August 8 and many still need a place to stay for the term of the campaign.

What is needed: spare bedroom, shared bathroom and freedom to come and go. Ideal: wireless internet access in the home, allergen-free environment and access to laundry. You are not expected to: provide meals, feed the organizer or feel the obligation to entertain.

Illinois Unites for Marriage organizers will keep a rigorous campaign schedule and be working most days from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, so they won’t be around for much more than sleeping hours. Organizers are rigorously vetted so you can expect to be housing someone of high moral character.

Please contact Damon Hainline, Deputy Field Director immediately if you can help the campaign in this way. He is available to answer your questions. Damon Hainline, Deputy Field Director, Illinois Unites for Marriage. Email or phone 212-920-4065.
