What : In remembrance of Kim K. Kearby (11/30/1946 – 9/19/2013), we will be having one last protest/occupy to say our goodbyes to him in front of Justen’s funeral home. We are asking all his fellow friends and occupiers to join us in this act of solidarity. Wear your favorite protest, occupy or union shirt and bring your protest signs or make a new one on a ½ sheet of poster board.

What: “Computer Chess: The Movie” opens this weekend at the Music Box Theatre with introductions and post-show discussions with the producer and writer/director. The film, done on a shoestring budget, was produced by Chicago native Alex Lipschultz. The writer/director, Andrew Bujalski, is the creator of the film genre “Mumblecore.” “Computer Chess: The Movie” won the Sloan Foundation Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
