“Cuts and Coffee” with State Rep. Karen May in Highland Park

This is the first of a series of “Cuts and Coffee” listening sessions in the district. Rep. May will ask for the input of local residents, providing worksheets from the State Government Suggestion Award Board to describe their proposals for cuts to spending. The Award Board will evaluate the suggestions, and new, legal ways that result in savings will result in a monetary award to the individual who proposes the cut.

Nationwide Remembrance of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New York City on March 25, 1911, congregations across the country will dedicate the Mourners Kadish during the Shabbat of March 25-26 to the memory of those who perished in the fire. Please write or send an email to obtain more information on the fire, the victims, and a reply form indicating intention to participate.
